Mahatma - Father of Nation
Drinking is a fundamental right of human. Being a biggest democratic country of the world, India should think about it's progress. I am not saying we should forget the values of Mahatma Gandhi - he is still and will be the BAPU and Father of the nation but even he would not want Gujarat to hit so many bad waves (earthquake, droughts, terrorist attacks, floods etc.) and not see a growth scale of economics.
I have read most of the books of Mahatma Gandhi - I respect him like every Indians do. He is Father of Freedom and Father of every Indian, his quotes and his saying clearly states that he wanted to see India on a RISE. Even Mahatma Gandhi once said - "I want freedom for the full expression of my personality".
Let Gujarat progress, let it have the freedom of economic growth, let it show the world how amazing GUJARAT is!
Here are few quotes from famous people which I would like to share with all Indians!
"Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful."
"Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning."
"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day."
Drink today and drown all sorrow
You shall perhaps not do it tomorrow
Best while you have it, use your breath
There is no drinking after death.
Good going guys, keeti it up. We are with you. If we nullify the political opponents like Vaghela by exposing their hyprocrisy, our job would be far easier. Let us concentrate on exposing all those who can create a news.
Gandhiji though was an exceptional human being and a communicator par excellnece, i am sorry to say was devoid of larger wisdom and foresight. In his autobiography, he says he dissuaded his sons from taking to higher and specialised education. How could he not understand that he was efficient and popular because of his formal education in Law. We can cite many such examples.
i think its a crime to adhere to a popular belief and way of thinking, that dates back to more than half a decade without comprehensive analysis of its relevance today. It undermines the intelligence of crores of people of Gujarat, if a prehistoric belief is not challenged or atleast debated for change. In the current globalised city even religion and its diktats are required to undergo relevance test from time to time.
I am with you.
Sudeep Sheth
I completly agree with Sandeep, only party who can do this would be them. NO OTHER PARTY has guts to lift the ban.
Mayur
Thank you for the support. But I feel that its important to stay away from politicising the issue of Prohibition. If we do, we are playing by the rules of the game of the politicians. So, please recognize that there are pro and anti prohibitionists irrespective of which party they support. Hence, lets not make this issue into a pro-X-political-party issue. We are for the responsible and systematic removal of prohibition and do not represent any political party, does that seem like a cause fair enough?

comes, ironically, from Gandhi's Dandi March (also called Salt March) 75 years ago, which protested the salt laws of the British rule in India. Gandhi, who also said that you have the duty to disobey unjust laws, was the chief proponent of an alcohol-free India. One of our objectives is to make a case that the context under which Gandhi instituted prohibition is not valid today. Today, alcohol prohibition in Gujarat is an outdated, corruption and crime breeding, short sighted law which must be systematically removed. Keeping up with Bapu's spirit, the Maltmarch community plans to march to the Sachivalay and have a drink in defiance of the prohibition law (date undecided).
